berlinophil is, of course, not the first project to explore the world's Berlins and their Berliners:
Back in 1998 the German journalist Harry Hampel published a volume of photographs called Von Berlin über Berlin nach Berlin (From Berlin over Berlin to Berlin, Rütten & Loening) that covered 57 places with the name Berlin. Unfortunately, the book is out of stock.
Drawing on information by the Technische Universität Berlin, the official homepage of Berlin, Germany, provides an extended list of 118 Berlins in aller Welt, including some basic information.
